PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES

PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES

It will be fine.
If we can concentrate on the practical, technical details of creating this blog. We are in THE TECHNICAL PHASE

What qualities must you possess to succeed this phase?

1. BROAD UNDERSTANDING - perspective
You must see that there is more to having your own blog than simply having "ideas" and writing posts.
You need to see how your blog works "under the hood" so that you can truly express yourself and your style.

2. ENJOY SOLVING PUZZLES - persistence
There are lots of little frustrations when you are setting up any system - including creating a blog.
You need to be patient and persistent. Never give up till you have solved the problem. You have to endure a lot of stress and repeated failure, before finally getting it right.
3. LIFE LONG LEARNING - grow
Life is about change. Change means adaption. That means learning new skills, making new arguments, bringing new tools.
You need to learn a new skillset to build a blog. If you can see that, then the door is open.

4. GOOD COMM - interpersonal skills
As you must work with other people, from other disciplines, so you must be able to understand and respect their perspective and values.
Be interested in making yourself understood in simple words, not try to impress with your own deep knowledge, but listen to the other and "echo" rephrase what they've said to be sure you've understood.

5. SPEAK UP! - confidence
As there are many roads to Mecca, so there are many ways to solve a problem.
Speak up, say what you think. Start with small suggestions, questions even, so you can find your place in the group. As your experience and respect grows, so you will propose bigger and bigger design solutions and even new concepts. But not at the beginning, at the beginning listen and maybe follow.

6. UNDERSTAND - curiosity
You learn how to do things, but be very interested in the why. If you are interested to discover the way the other person's business works, better you can support and advise.

7. TEAM SPIRIT - joint effort
With the different strengths and abilities of others, with the repartition of the work into different tasks for different people, success comes when all the contributions are reassembled like a big jigsaw puzzle.
See the strengths and abilities of others and try to understand and respect the differences.

8. DEADLINES - bring it in on time
Deadlines are usually imposed by "the real world" or sometimes worked out within the team in planning sessions.
If you agree to a deadline, after thinking / negotiating about it, then stick to it.

9. ADAPTABILITY - temporary or permanent change of plan
Contexts evolve, new requirements, it requires subtle and agile mindset to adapt to and include.
If its temporary, leave notes to pick up from where you left off. If permanent change, you will need time to understand the new situation. Adapt, swing into the change, without getting frustrated, emotional or angry.

10. LIFECYCLE OWNERSHIP - follow through
From conception, to design, build, test, train, deploy, debug, decommission even. Your expertise from one phase may be useful in the next.
Offer your services to get the thing through the next phase.

SCOTLAND SALMOND AND STURGEON

SCOTLAND SALMOND AND STURGEON

Noone is able to understand this disgraceful abuse of justice and UK resources. Nobody outside Scotland seems to care. Boris's visit last week went unreported.

All the rest of the UK is interested in knowing is how to stop this preposterous waste of UK money, how to stop Scotland humiliating itself In this way and how to get Scotland back on its feet.

Scotland is dying in front of our eyes and Westminster does nothing for its people. What? Scotland needs a competent and credible opposition to these lunatics. Sturgeon cares o ly about power and lesbian rights, while Scotland burns.

All I personally need to know is that Sturgeon is at the centre of this, she is the local leader, she is responsible for this utter fiasco and the UK PM needs to remove her using a long pair of pinchers.

EU PUNISHMENT IS SELF DESTRUCTIVE

EU PUNISHMENT IS SELF DESTRUCTIVE

Just take a look at EU comments over the last five years. They say what they believe and we Should believe what they say.  Fundamentally UK failure is the stated aim and that was before the vaccine row which has obviously angered some EU elements to their very core.

The UK must raise its game by a considerable amount.  More research, better patent laws, better education,  better strategic thinking, better tactical implementation, more import substitution, sort out and support the steel industry and provide local coking coal, sort out nuclear power, make things and bring production back on shore and actual government support of the productive economy.

The list is endless and the managed decline will not cut it. The skills and expertise lost by the UK is a disgrace.  Once, UK had no problem running a highly successful nuclear power generation programme, now it waits on the French to get their act together and cannot even keep the Japanese on side.  Not good enough and the governments of all colours and their advisers have much to answer for.

The UK can do much much better. The vaccine programme and subsequent rollout is a triumph and if that is one world beating programme there can be more.

The UK has talent, it has skills and as importantly it is a real democracy with a common law legal system and reliable accounting and regulation. They flock to London to finance their operations and resolve their disputes.

And for the most part a population of individuals who think common sense is a good way to make judgements (peace to the idiotic juvenile Woke).

The EU in administrative terms is poor, its legal system appears restrictive and inflexable and the UK can beat them hands down if it so decides.  The only real problem is political parties who are keener on ego trips infighting and spending, rather then wealth generation

And stop passing laws which slow decisions and add to the costs of any enterprise and stop this absurd and suicidal drive to be politically correct, the other side is not so easily offended.

The EU have made their position clear on NI and the City with the aim of making the UK poorer and reduced in stature in the world. But the UK can perfe tly make that approach counter-productive for them and Brexit really does give the UK the option to shine!

HOW DID WE GET ALL THIS DEBT?

HOW DID WE GET ALL THIS DEBT? IS IT A PLOT BY THE RICH?

The debt is destroying the currency with signs of inflation all around us.

In the beginning, you had repayment mortgages on three times annual income. Then it was falling interest rates and extended pay back terms. Then it was interest-only loans. Then no-checking loans to include "the poor" income ownership.

That ended with The Minsky Moment and sub-prime crisis.

We set off again with QE, central banks bought govt bonds, further depressing the cost of borrowing and making the rich richer.

That ended with The Left Behind and negative interest rates.

Now we're off to the races again for a third time, with governments instructing independent  central banks to print and distribute free money directly to the people. Call it furlough or 3,000$, it is real helicopter money.

This will end with govt taking over whole swathes of the economy to run directly and finally, under a new perhaps military, ruler with a totalitarian society.

IS IT THE WORK OF A JEWISH CABAL?

But it's not a globalist objective. It is the way systems work. It is natural centralising forces.

What conspiracy theorists need to understand is that evolution of systems is blind. There isn't a controller or a global objective. It is bottom-up hand-to-hand fighting that decides little-by-little the change and the dominance.

THE YOUNG WANT A SAY

THE YOUNG WANT A SAY

Asked about the current political turmoil in Thailand and Myangmar and how he would deal with protesters if he were still in power, Thaksin emphasised the importance of communicating with today's youth.

“Political rallies in Thailand are caused by young people starting to become uncertain about their future. The government must communicate with these young protesters based on reason, as well as find ways to make Thailand open and free.”

"Democracy" is a label for a Western institution. What people everywhere want is a say in determining the future. How that is materialised, we call democracy. It means adult suffrage, separation of religion and state, hustings, periodic elections, a free press, accountability. It requires the rule of law and a functioning, effective, non-discriminatory state.

Things we in the West take for granted. But in Arab kingdoms, there is majlis. Black African kingdoms are run by powerful heads of family or tribe. Is America run by combines or a power-elite.
What is not acceptable is dictatorship or oligarchy. Tianammen Sq and Yangon will not be forgotten.

CHIANG MAI OPENING ITS MARKETS

Good news, the night market of Chiang Mai is a major attraction, some great shops, great the Night Market is happening when visitors get the chance to visit that fabulous city.

Sitting inside the Temple grounds of Wat Chedi and other Temples is a beautiful way to spend the day. And the night market is like one of the great caravan stopping places of ancient times.

In 2019, Chiang Mai welcomed 11 million tourists, with 70% of them being Thai. By contrast, there were only 1 million in 2020. This year’s number is expected to be around 25% of the 2019 figure.

THE CRASH WILL START IN THE BOND MARKETS

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2021/02/26/fed-has-lost-control-bond-markets-europe-victim/

It's true, it's the usual sensational copy from a most creative hack.

But it's not true that Armageddon is coming. We are told that this is bond traders, sniffing inflation, and goaded by Biden's billions, pulling out prematurely, with yields rising, although the only place to run with the money would ultimately be into stock markets.

So, in terms of actionable advice, the advice is sit tight and even better, buy into the dip.

However, longer term, of course Armageddon is coming: we're in the final phase three of three. First, there was repayment mortgages but to help house the poor, terms were lengthened, you got interest-only loans, then no-checking loans until in 2008 we had our Minsky Moment (poor man died in 1998).

Then came QE where central banks buy up govt debt to provide a ready-buyer, maintain prices and effectively diminish yields, encouraging pensioners to bet their savings on stocks and spend the winnings on holiday cruises. That decade frim2008 was great for markets but now CAPE is saying the party's over.

Finally, along comes covid, threatening to load the boat with debt till it sinks, while govts hand out newly-printed strings-free mostly to small companies and private citizens. (Real helicopter money this time.) Let's get real: it'll never be repaid.

Central banks have been captured by politicians, which is why inflation together with money supply is flashing Red warning lights.

We have Legarde at the ECB , Yellen in the US Treasury, Draghi as Prime minister of Italy. Fact is, there has been a great amount of money digitally created by the govt-centralbank duo and transferred from the state balance sheet(s) to firms & individuals, who are now desperate to spend after being locked up.

UK & US will boom and UK GDP in 21/2 will be 7.3% the only educated person at the bank Haldane gets ridiculed but he is spot on.

EUR on its way to 0.87 v dollar and 0.6770 v Sterling.But globally ? ...

Of course it's going to end badly ... what is anyone thinking about? The output gap will close, labour markets will tighten, technology will fail to bring further productivity gains. Then inflation will grip borrowers and ... we've seen where that goes in Weimer, Zim and Venezuela.

To me, short of war (to destroy oversupply), hyper-inflation is the only way out. It will hit emerging economies as it did in July '97 in the Tom Yam Kung crisis, but there will be a 2008-style credit crisis. We're due a crunch.

INDEPENDENCE FOR SCOTLAND?

I'd imagine Sturgeon's supporters see her chicanery in the Salmond Inquiry

as proof of her ability to get what she wants.

Westminster can try a direct financial appeal to the forgotten failures of Glasgow and the West who wish for "independence" (what a misnomer!)  It is a clever move to offer direct support to community groups, through which the pro-Union comm can be channeled.

But Westminster should also be surreptitiously withdrawing its assets. Keep the commitment to extend levelling up on paper only.

And the govt in waiting need to urgently show how they will pay their divorce settlement, set up their central bank, manage their new currency; how they will handle the rights of Scots abroad to return and protect English folk living in Scotland; how they will construct the new physical border (or perhaps rehab the existing wall) man it, what processes to run it; what FTA do they set their sights on and how to achieve that (or will WTO terms be acceptable)?

There is no evidence that separatists have thought about any of the real world concerns to do with life as an independent country. Nor have they shown they understand, but reject, the benefits Scotland receives from other regions of the UK - benefits but little in the way of contributions these days, it must be said (compare with Scotland's glorious past).

The quality of supporters of the SNP make it hard to have a reasoned debate. Winning hearts is a real challenge. The EU do it by taking over committees and industrial boards, offering subsidies, strengthening legislation, stuffing them with EU stooges, rewriting charters to follow EU objectives.

If a government admits the idea of "independence" for a region, then it finds itself having to defend inclusion. Not to recommend Spain's handling of secessionists, which was to lock up local leaders on charges of sedition.

WEE KRANKIE'S REFERENDUM

WEE KRANKIE'S REFERENDUM

And who is going to pay the £20,000,000 cost of Wee Krankie's proposed referendum? Noone can imagine an independent Scotland, even it it were a fit country, which it isn't.

If Scottish government Ministers hold an unofficial referendum in breach of the UK constitution, they should be personally surcharged for the cost of it.

But the UK government does need an alternative plan for a meaningful vote on Scotland's post-Brexit status. The key to this is to follow the same approach as the EU did with the UK's negotiations; no talks about the referendum itself else until the Scottish government has agreed with the UK:-

1. How it would take on and discharge its share of the existing  UK national debt, including the establishment of its own currency and Central Bank, so that neither the Scottish government nor Scotland's banking system will have any right of financial support or guarantee from the rest of UK.

2. How it would protect the right of Scottish people living in the rest of the UK, including (as in UK elections) the right to vote in referendums if they lived within the country anytime in the 15 years.

3. How the border would work in practice, including the prior actual construction on Scottish land at Scotland's expense of the buildings and lorry-parking necessary for the operation of their own immigration  and customs controls, which would become necessary if an independent Scotland, at any point in the future, chose to have laws or regulations inconsistent with an open UK border.

If the SNP can convince Scottish voters to re-elect them yet again, in full knowledge of what leaving the UK is likely to mean, then at that point - but not before - they will have a strong democratic case for a second and final referendum by the current generation of Scots. But to most Scotch-Watchers  it is a handful of deluded power-seekers, deluding a people looking for an explanation of their historic failure and how to restore achievement and pride.

VALUATION: DISCOUNTED CASH FLOW EXPLAINED

VALUATION: DISCOUNTED CASH FLOW EXPLAINED

If I agreed to pay you £100 in 10 years time and interest rates are 2% then that £100 in 10 years time is worth only £82.03 today because if you invested £82.03 in the bank and they paid you 2% interest you would have £100 after 10 years.

You do of course need to have earnings figures for each of the next, say, 10 years.
